Role Description: This job is responsible for supporting evaluations of cyber security threats and updating defensive capabilities to reduce the bank's risk of exposure. Key responsibilities include conducting analyses of the threat environment and threats to the bank, including post incident analysis, applying a multi-faceted situational awareness of cyber security processes to protect against threats, and implementing proactive defensive actions for the security, continuity, and confidentiality of information. Responsibilities: The Global Information Security (GIS) Cyber Brand Defence (CBD) team investigates and engages external digital threats that impact the bank's interests. This includes identifying, investigating, and remediating cybersecurity threats. The Cyber Brand Defence operations team focus on the rapid identification, analysis, response, and mitigation of active cybercrime threats. This role performs day-to-day cybercrime response activities that require timely human judgment, technical investigation, and precise execution to reduce customer and brand exposure to phishing, impersonation, fraud, and other external threats. The position plays a critical role in protecting customers, executives, and the organization from real-time cyber-enabled abuse. As a Cyber Brand Defence Specialists you are expected to operate independently and leverage best-in-class investigation skills across multiple concurrent investigations to find external engagement opportunities that reduce risk to the firm, the firm's interests or customers. CBD Specialists are expected to apply existing risk frameworks with minimal supervision. Leveraging multiple toolsets and vendors to achieve desired end state are required; CBD Specialists are also expected to identify opportunities to improve existing toolsets or expand vendor capabilities to meet changing threats. Succinct communications, timely investigations and outcomes, and responsible stewardship is expected. What we are looking for: • Extensive Familiarity with phishing, social engineering, online scams, impersonation abuse, and other forms of external cyber threats is a must for this role • Experience working with threat intelligence, alerts, or investigative data from internal or third-party sources. • A broad knowledge of computer networking, log analysis, information security principles, and adversarial tools and techniques • Deep analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking • Able to identify, analyse and address cyber security issues or threats, including emerging tactics or techniques • Capability to convey a cyber-security issue or threat to an external firm in a way that demonstrates how it violates the Terms of Service or Community Standards • Confident and capable written and oral presentation skills • Ability to work independently with little oversight managing multiple investigations simultaneously • Must be comfortable in delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding • Must have leadership skills and qualities which enable you to work with peers and various levels of management • Demonstrated ability to perform rapid analysis and decision-making in high-tempo, time-sensitive environments. • Experience in cybersecurity operations, cybercrime response, fraud investigations, brand protection, or a related security discipline. • Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and actions.
