We partner closely with cities to deliver safe, sustainable alternatives to cars and reduce congestion and emissions. &nbsp; Job Summary: We’re looking for a dependable Overnight Operations Specialist (Driver) to support fleet operations across New York City. In this role, you’ll drive a company van throughout NYC during overnight hours, repositioning e-scooters/e-bikes, swapping batteries, and ensuring vehicles are safe, charged, and ready for riders by morning. This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, comfortable working independently at night, and confident navigating city streets. Shift: <ul> <li data-section-id="vousi2" data-start="65" data-end="176">Shifts will vary based on business needs and may include both morning and evening shifts.</li> </ul> Pay: $20-22/hour Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Safely operate a company vehicle using app-based routing across NYC</li> <li>Load, unload, and transport scooters and e-bikes (50–90 lbs)</li> <li>Rebalance fleet from low-demand to high-demand areas</li> <li>Swap batteries and ensure all devices are properly charged</li> <li>Perform basic diagnostics and flag damaged or malfunctioning vehicles</li> <li>Clean, disinfect, and prepare vehicles for daily rider use</li> <li>Stage and organize vehicles in warehouse locations</li> <li>Conduct routine checks on company vehicles</li> <li>Collaborate with team members via mobile apps and in-person communication</li> <li>Assist with testing and quality assurance for new product features</li> </ul> Must Have: <ul> <li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record</li> <li>At least 2 years of driving experience</li> <li>Comfortable driving a cargo van in NYC (tight streets, traffic, night conditions)</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 80–90 lbs</li> <li>Comfortable working overnight shifts</li> <li>Strong time management and ability to work independently</li> <li>Smartphone proficiency (app-based navigation and task management)</li> <li>Basic English communication skills</li> </ul> Highly Desired: <ul> <li>Experience driving larger vehicles (cargo vans, box trucks, U-Hauls)</li> <li>Familiarity with NYC streets, boroughs, and traffic patterns</li> <li>Background in delivery, logistics, warehouse, or rideshare work</li> <li>Mechanically inclined (basic troubleshooting/maintenance)</li> </ul> Why Bird Matters: Every ride helps build a more livable city: <ul> <li>Freedom: Easy, flexible transportation</li> <li>Exploration: Making everyday trips more engaging</li> <li>Community: Connecting neighborhoods and people</li> <li>Sustainability: Reducing emissions and car dependency</li> </ul> Culture at Bird We’re an ambitious, collaborative, and inclusive team.
