The role

Join our talent team and help land exceptional engineers at one of the fastest-growing AI companies in private capital.

You’ll work across a set of senior engineering roles in backend, fullstack, platform and AI. That covers sourcing, outreach, screening, stakeholder management and closing. You’ll work directly with our CTO and engineering leads, and alongside our Talent Lead and existing contract recruiter. Your success is measured in hires made, not in activity.

We need someone who can hit the ground running in week one, add real momentum to a live pipeline, and sell a technically ambitious story to engineers who aren’t actively looking.

The opportunity

• Drive a live engineering hiring plan. You’ll run multiple senior searches in parallel with the wider talent team, from intake to signed offer, against clear targets and dates.

• Source the people who aren’t applying. Build target lists and boolean searches and run multi-channel outreach to reach top engineers at venture-backed startups and leading tech firms. Most of our best hires come from outbound, and that’s where you’ll spend most of your time.

• Run a tight, candidate-first process. Screen for technical depth and ownership, keep candidates warm, and make sure nobody waits on us.

• Partner with the CTO. Calibrate profiles, challenge briefs when they need challenging, and give hiring managers an honest read on the market.

• Close well. Manage offers, competing processes and counter-offers so the right people say yes.

• Deliver a reusable sourcing toolkit. As part of the engagement, you’ll hand over documented sourcing playbooks, outreach templates and Ashby workflow improvements for the roles you run.

Track record

• Deep technical recruiting experience. You have five or more years hiring senior software engineers, ideally at a venture-backed startup, a scale-up or a specialist tech agency.

• Outbound is your strength. You can show how you’ve built pipelines from scratch and filled hard senior roles through direct sourcing.

• You speak the language. You’re comfortable discussing backend, distributed systems, infrastructure and AI/ML engineering with candidates and engineering leaders. You don’t need to code, but you can tell a strong profile from a keyword match.

• Proven closer. You have a track record of landing in-demand engineers against competing offers.

• The London market. You have strong knowledge of the London engineering talent landscape and where great engineers sit.

• Tooling. Hands-on with Ashby (or a comparable ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter and AI sourcing tools.
