Head of Product at Cherry Ventures
- Company: Cherry Ventures
- Location: Berlin
- Employment type: professional / experienced
- Posted: 2026-10-26
Location: Berlin, Germany (office first)
Start date: As soon as possible
Company: Venture-backed AI startup, early stage
About the Company
We’re a fast-growing AI company building agents for complex, high-stakes enterprise workflows in public procurement, one of Europe’s largest and least digitised markets. Our product takes on the slow, manual, document-heavy work behind public tenders. That saves businesses and the public sector a great deal of wasted time and money.
The Role
We’re hiring a Head of Product to own and scale our product function. This is a hands-on individual contributor role. You’ll be the most senior product person in the company and work directly with the founders and engineering team. You’ll personally drive discovery, prioritisation and delivery. As we grow, you’ll set up how the product function works: its processes, rituals and culture. When the time is right, you’ll hire the team around you.
What You’ll Do
- Own the product strategy and roadmap, setting direction alongside the founders, engineering and customers.
- Lead core product initiatives end to end, from discovery and scoping through launch and iteration. You’ll ship AI products that enterprise customers rely on.
- Stay close to the product: test, refine and pressure-test our agents, and understand how prompts, context and evaluations shape quality.
- Spend real time with customers. Uncover requirements, turn noisy feedback into clear priorities and become a trusted partner to their business.
- Build the product function. Define how we discover, prioritise, ship and measure, and lay the foundations for a future product team.
- Work with GTM on positioning and join sales conversations where product insight wins deals.
Who You Are
- 5+ years in product management or a closely related role (founder, early operator, consulting into product), with a strong record of shipping.
- A startup operator at heart. You’ve done your best work at early-stage companies, ideally as one of the first product hires or as a founder. Experience only at large corporates won’t be the right fit for this role.
- A strong all-rounder, as comfortable setting strategy as writing a detailed spec, debugging an edge case or jumping on a sales call.
- Exceptional product sense and user empathy. You look past the surface of a feature request to find the root problem.
- Technically curious. You don’t need a CS degree or coding skills, but you’re confident working with engineers and exploring what AI can and can’t do.
- A clear communicator who uses both qualitative and quantitative reasoning to make and explain decisions.
- Based in Berlin or ready to relocate.
- Fluent in English and German (required for our customer base).
- Nice to have: B2B or enterprise software experience (strongly preferred), hands-on work with AI/LLM products, or exposure to public sector or regulated markets.
You’ll Thrive If
- You love building from 0 to 1. You don’t need a roadmap handed to you, and you enjoy creating structure where there is none.
- You move fast and are energised by an intense, ambitious environment.
- You have a “no task is too small” mindset and lead by doing.
- You love being in the office and believe in-person collaboration drives speed.
What’s In It For You
- Ownership from day one. You’ll define the product, with direct access to the founders and zero red tape.
- A role that grows with you. As the company scales, so do your scope and your team.
- Shared upside: top-of-market compensation and generous equity.
- A mission that matters. You won’t be optimising ad clicks. You’ll be helping businesses and the public sector cut waste on a huge scale.
Our Process
- Review: All applications reviewed within 5 days.
- Intro call: 30 minutes on your background and motivations.
- Product deep dive (remote): 1 hour on your product thinking and problem-solving.
- On-site (half day): Work through a real product use case with the team, followed by 1:1s with Engineering and GTM.
- Offer: A quick final decision and transparent feedback straight after the on-site.
