Engineering Manager at Chime

<h2><strong>About the role </strong></h2> <p>Chime is looking for a seasoned engineering leader to help manage and guide the Data team to drive the company to build a scalable and self-serve data foundation. As a Senior Engineering Manager in the Data team, you will lead the effort to enable Chime to democratize data with stronger governance.</p> <p>The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $199,000.00 and up to $275,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.</p> <h2><strong>In this role, you can expect to</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>Drive the next generation of FinTech innovation</strong> by leading AI-driven, data-centric initiatives that accelerate business growth, improve decision-making, and advance Chime's data.</li> <li><strong>Partner closely with Analytics, Product, Data Science, and cross-functional stakeholders</strong> to deliver high-quality, trusted, and secure data products while serving as a strategic thought partner to the business.</li> <li><strong>Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing engineering teams</strong>, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.</li> <li><strong>Champion innovation and continuous improvement</strong> by establishing a clear sense of urgency and direction, setting high expectations for both the team and individual contributors, and driving operational excellence.</li> <li><strong>Collaborate across teams to prioritize work, resolve issues, and remove delivery obstacles</strong>, ensuring the team remains focused on delivering the highest business impact while maintaining engineering quality and velocity.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>To thrive in this role, you have</strong></h2> <ul> <li>7+ years of experience leading Data Engineering teams.</li> <li>Proven experience building scalable, AI-ready data tools, semantic models, and trusted data products.</li> <li>Strong partnership with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Marketing to deliver business outcomes.</li> <li>Experience driving engineering excellence, including data quality, governance, CI/CD, and operational reliability.</li> <li>Experience with Growth and Marketing Data tech, including attribution, funnels, and experimentation.</li> <li>Experience in Supporting teams to deliver solution on tech stack such as Spark,Snowflake, Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Key-Value store, dbt</li> </ul> <p>Nice-to-Have </p> <ul> <li>Experience with AWS ecosystem</li> <li>Experience leveraging AI tools to improve engineering productivity.</li> </ul> <p>#LI-Onsite #LI-WW1</p><div class="content-conclusion"><h2><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><strong>A little about us</strong></span></h2> <p><span style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">At Chime, we believe that everyone can achieve financial progress.
