Director, Revenue Assurance & Ireland Country Lead at Databricks

Mission

Databricks is seeking a senior finance leader based in Ireland to fulfill a dual-impact role: leading our global technical Revenue Assurance function supporting EMEA/APAC regions and serving as the foundational Country Lead for the newly established Databricks Ireland entity.

This high-visibility role combines strategic technical accounting with operational leadership. You will manage a global revenue assurance team while personally establishing and executing key operational processes for Databricks in Ireland.

You will serve as the core on-the-ground finance lead supporting intercompany execution, local contract fulfillment, and revenue assurance oversight to ensure seamless business operations across Ireland and the European Union.

Impact you will have:

Ireland Entity Leadership & Operational Compliance

• Local Entity Execution: Serve as the primary on-the-ground finance leader in Ireland, executing key intercompany agreement workflows required for DBRX Ireland operations.
• Contract & Order Oversight: Support local contract execution workflows on behalf of the entity, ensuring all EU customer order forms and cloud services agreements adhere to established commercial and legal guardrails.
• Intercompany & Revenue Operations Support: Oversee local revenue processes, including EU customer contracting, billing workflows, and payment collection oversight, coordinating closely with Global Order-to-Cash (OtC) and Treasury teams to ensure proper fund-remittance to Databricks, Inc. and compliance with intercompany remittance timelines.
• Functional Governance: Partner with local and global Legal, Tax, and Treasury stakeholders to maintain local operational compliance, supporting VAT/GST processes (owned by Tax) and legal approvals (owned by Legal).
• Local Capability Expansion: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support hiring and onboarding of additional staff in Ireland to build out long-term operational capabilities for the entity.

Global Revenue Assurance Strategy & Execution

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and scale a global team of revenue accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• ASC 606 / IFRS 15 & Technical Accounting Compliance: Ensure consistent treatment and proper accounting of global enterprise SaaS and consumption-based revenue transactions in compliance with ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, and internal accounting policies. Experience applying differences in IFRS 15 vs. ASC 606 in local statutory accounting.
• Deal Strategy & Commercial Advisory: Partner with Global Sales, Strategic Pricing, Deal Desk, and Legal functions during deal negotiations to structure non-standard, complex customer contracts in compliance with revenue recognition standards.
• Delegated Approval Authority: Exercise tiered finance approval authority for non-standard pricing and commercial terms within established guardrails.
• Cross-Functional Process Innovation: Collaborate with FP&A, IT, RevOps, and Order-to-Cash teams to identify data, process, and automation improvements (e.g., system enhancements, SQL data analysis) to minimize manual workarounds and scale operations.
• Training & Enablement: Develop and deliver technical revenue recognition training to cross-functional business partners.

What we look for:

• Professional License: Active Chartered Accountant (ACA / FCA / ACCA) qualification required.
• Big 4 Experience: Minimum 5+ years of audit or advisory experience at a Big 4 accounting firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, or KPMG).
• Experience Level: 15+ years of progressively responsible finance and accounting experience, with at least 5+ years dedicated to a technical revenue recognition role in a global, publicly traded or high-growth SaaS/tech company.
• ASC 606 Expertise: Deep understanding of ASC 606, specifically within enterprise SaaS, consumption/usage-based business models, and complex software revenue structures.
• Entity & Local Governance Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of Irish statutory requirements, intercompany operational frameworks, and cross-border commercial execution.
• Data & Systems Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with hands-on proficiency in financial systems and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, ERP enterprise systems).
• Leadership & Change Management: Proven track record of managing global teams, navigating ambiguity, leading through rapid scale, and influencing stakeholders across cross-functional matrixed teams.
