Manager 2, Technical Enablement Management at Datadog

We are Datadog's in-house product experts. The Technical Enablement Management (TEM) team empowers customers through technical training sessions, ensuring they maximize the value of Datadog. We combine deep technical knowledge with a consultative approach, demonstrating best practices and tailoring training to specific use cases.

As a Manager on this team, you will play a critical role in strengthening our relationships with Sales and Customer Success teams across APJ, developing and coaching the Technical Enablement Managers (TEMs) who report to you, and evolving our enablement programs to better support customer adoption and success. You will lead a distributed team of Technical Enablement Managers covering markets across Asia and ANZ. Manager 2 leaders at Datadog are people-first managers, trusted collaborators, and operational owners. In APJ you will also be the most senior enablement voice in the region, so you will spend as much time building awareness and credibility with Sales and Customer Success as you do managing delivery.

What You'll Do:

• Own the positioning and enablement strategy for Sales and Customer Success teams in APJ, driving attach rates by positioning training as a value-added service and increasing consumption of complimentary offerings
• Build demand upstream: engage Sales and Customer Success teams across the region at scale, keep positioning and materials current, and drive consistent use of the request process
• Act as the quality gate for incoming work, scoping requests to the right offering, focusing broad asks into targeted sessions, and aligning demand to business need
• Analyze customer training adoption and feedback, evaluating programs for ROI to inform which offerings to scale, evolve, or retire
• Develop sales tools and enablement resources that help internal teams confidently position and sell training to customers
• Drive consistency in training delivery, content utilization and reporting across the team, evaluating delivery quality and distinguishing facilitation gaps from content gaps
• Build and maintain the intake and capacity-planning mechanisms the team runs on, including pre-session questionnaires, triage, prioritisation frameworks and accurate time tracking, and continuously iterate on tooling and processes to improve efficiency and scalability
• Lead, coach and mentor a team of TEMs across APJ, conducting regular 1:1s, performance evaluations and session shadowing, identifying performance gaps early and managing performance formally when coaching alone is not enough
• Proactively monitor team KPIs (utilization, CSAT, productivity, session delivery against demand, and attendance rates), diagnosing trends and gaps, and assign workload so that TEMs achieve an 80% productivity target while balancing training delivery, content creation and enablement activities
• Champion the use of AI tools within the team to improve productivity from content creation and session prep through to reporting and QA, coach TEMs on effective and responsible use, and identify opportunities to apply AI to scale enablement delivery and improve program ROI
• Actively participate in recruiting, hiring and onboarding across the team and the broader organization
• Collaborate with Technical Solutions leadership, Sales, Customer Success, Engineering and Product teams to address urgent needs and implement process improvements

Who You Are:

• An experienced people manager, results-driven, with a strong focus on executing strategies that drive measurable business impact and revenue growth
• A strong coach and mentor who invests in career development and builds inclusive, high-performing teams, and who has authored the things that let a team scale: career progression frameworks, structured onboarding and a consistent coaching cadence
• Has built demand for a services or enablement function by going out to Sales and Customer Success rather than waiting for inbound requests, and can point to a measurable before and after
• A clear communicator who can influence without authority and align stakeholders around common goals
• Energised by bringing a service to new internal audiences, and able to make the case as compellingly on the twentieth telling as on the first
• Able to hold priorities firmly when demands compete, renegotiating scope with partner teams while keeping the relationship strong
• Deliberate about priorities, with a track record of choosing what not to take on and delegating rather than absorbing
• Culturally adaptable across Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and ANZ, adjusting approach per market rather than applying one style everywhere
• Direct and transparent, setting clear expectations and healthy boundaries, and calm when plans change at short notice
• Exceptionally self-organised, owning their own scheduling, follow-up and administrative rhythm
• A strategic thinker who balances customer needs with business goals, evaluates program ROI and drives cross-functional alignment, with a track record of implementing scalable enablement programs in a growing company
• Data-driven, comfortable using metrics and KPIs to inform decisions and optimize performance
• Demonstrated capability of utilizing AI tooling and scaling it, with a growth mindset of embracing change and being curious
• Technically proficient, with knowledge of modern infrastructure, monitoring solutions, and cloud technologies
• Experienced (5+ years) in Training, Presales, Post-Sales, Consulting, or another customer-facing role, with a history of success
• Educated in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Requires up to 25% travel across the APJ region, primarily to drive and promote enablement adoption with Sales and Customer Success along with team development and cross-functional planning
