Junior Data Analyst (Financial Crime & KYC) at Delta Capita

Role Overview:

Job Type - Fixed Term Contract - 6 months

Location: London (Hybrid)

We are seeking a Data Analyst (Financial Crime & KYC) to support Financial Crime Middle Office (FCMO) change initiatives within a leading global banking environment.

This role combines business analysis, project delivery, management information reporting, process improvement, and SQL-based data analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Financial Crime change programmes, enhancing MI reporting and data quality, documenting business processes, and ensuring regulatory and operational requirements are effectively implemented across the function.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Change Delivery

• Support Financial Crime and bank-wide change initiatives from inception through implementation.

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements and translate them into clear process and operational solutions.

• Produce current-state and future-state process documentation, process maps, and business requirements.

• Assist in the identification, assessment, and delivery of change initiatives impacting Financial Crime operations.

• Support project governance activities, stakeholder engagement, training delivery, and implementation activities.

• Ensure procedures, controls, guidance documents, and training materials are updated following process or system changes.

Management Information (MI) & Reporting

• Develop, automate, maintain, and enhance Management Information (MI) reporting capabilities.

• Produce regular and ad-hoc management reports for operational teams, governance committees, and senior management.

• Analyse reporting outputs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.

• Improve reporting accuracy, efficiency, and data quality through automation and enhanced controls.

• Deliver insightful data analysis to support business decision-making and operational performance monitoring.

SQL & Data Analysis

• Write and execute SQL queries to extract, join, aggregate, and analyse data from multiple sources.

• Support reporting and business initiatives through detailed data analysis.

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and trend analysis activities.

• Identify data quality issues and support root-cause investigations.

• Utilise advanced Excel techniques to analyse large and complex datasets and generate meaningful insights.

Financial Crime Operations Support

• Support Reverse KYC activities, including customer correspondence and record management.

• Maintain accurate information and documentation relating to Financial Crime processes.

• Assist with governance and control activities across Financial Crime operations.

• Promote consistency of processes and reporting across EMEA teams and stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

• Build strong relationships across Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Business functions.

• Support governance forums through meeting coordination, documentation, and action tracking.

• Communicate process changes, business requirements, and project updates to stakeholders at all levels.

• Contribute to cross-regional collaboration and alignment of Financial Crime processes and controls.

Essential Skills & Experience

1. Proven experience as a Business Analyst, MI Analyst, Change Analyst, or Project Analyst within Financial Services.

2. Strong SQL skills with the ability to independently extract, join, aggregate, and analyse data.

3. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including reporting, data analysis, and automation.

4. Experience supporting business change, transformation, regulatory, or operational improvement initiatives.

5. Strong requirements gathering, process documentation, and business analysis capabilities.

6. Experience producing MI reporting and presenting insights to management stakeholders.

7. Understanding of Financial Crime operations including KYC, CDD, and associated regulatory requirements.

8. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

9. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

10. High attention to detail with a strong governance and control mindset.

Desirable Experience

1. Financial Crime Middle Office (FCMO) experience.

2. Reverse KYC, KYC remediation, or client outreach programmes.

3. Regulatory change or Financial Crime transformation programmes.

4. Process improvement, automation, and reporting optimisation initiatives.

5. Experience supporting governance committees and senior management reporting.

6. Experience within investment banking, corporate banking, or international banking environments.

This is a fixed-term position located in London. Expectations regarding hybrid working: As we are a Service Provider and Consulting firm servicing clients, our policy for physically working from the office (which may be the clients' offices or our own offices depending on the client) aligns to what our clients' policies and expectations are and these vary. Most of our clients now require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home, and accordingly this is also the minimum expectation that Delta Capita require.
