Role Overview

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for acquiring and developing net-new mid-market customers through a consultative, value-based sales approach.

This role requires a strong hunter mentality and the ability to independently build and manage a pipeline from prospecting through close. You will work with customers to understand their logistics and supply chain challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and position Flexport's technology and services as a broader business solution—not simply as a freight or transportation provider.

A successful AE is able to move customer conversations beyond price and transactional freight discussions by demonstrating the broader value Flexport can deliver through its platform, visibility, technology, and operational capabilities.

Pipeline & Opportunity Ownership

Independently identify, prospect, and close net-new mid-market customers, meeting or exceeding individual sales targets.
Build and manage a healthy pipeline through self-sourced prospecting, outbound outreach, referrals, networking, and other channels.
Own the full sales cycle from initial prospecting and qualification through negotiation and close.
Qualify opportunities based on customer needs, business priorities, timing, and strategic fit—not solely on immediate price competitiveness.
Maintain accurate opportunity management and forecasting in Salesforce (SFDC).
Maintain clear ownership of next steps and momentum throughout the sales cycle.

Customer Discovery & Value-Based Selling

Lead discovery conversations with prospective customers to understand their logistics, supply chain, and business challenges.
Engage relevant stakeholders and uncover the underlying needs, priorities, and decision criteria behind a customer's requirements.
Understand when a customer is primarily focused on price and effectively reframe the conversation around total value, operational efficiency, visibility, technology, and service quality.
Demonstrate the ability to challenge a customer's existing approach and introduce new perspectives on how logistics can create business value.
Translate customer needs into tailored Flexport solutions and articulate a compelling value proposition.
Conduct effective customer presentations, platform demonstrations, and solution discussions in both remote and in-person settings.

Deal Management & Closing

Manage opportunities from qualification through negotiation and close with clear ownership and consistent sales momentum.
Develop compelling commercial proposals that connect Flexport's solution to the customer's business priorities.
Lead commercial discussions and negotiations within Flexport's pricing and contracting frameworks.
Avoid competing solely on price and clearly communicate the value and differentiation of Flexport's platform and services.
Coordinate with internal teams such as Operations, Solutions, Finance, and Legal when required to progress opportunities.

Onboarding & Account Development

Partner with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to customer onboarding and execution.
Establish trusted relationships with key customer stakeholders from the early stages of the customer lifecycle.
Identify opportunities to expand and deepen customer relationships based on evolving customer needs.

Prerequisites

3+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
Proven ability to independently build pipelines and acquire new customers without relying on a dedicated SDR.
Strong consultative and value-based selling skills, with the ability to move customer conversations beyond price and transactional requirements.
Strong discovery, communication, presentation, negotiation, and commercial judgment skills.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and stakeholders while maintaining sales momentum.
Native Korean + Fluent in English.

Preferred

Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, SaaS, technology, or other solution-oriented B2B sales.
Experience selling in a price-sensitive market or successfully differentiating a solution based on business value rather than price alone.
