Growth & Strategy Manager (m/f/d) at MAOMAO Technologies

Language requirement: German (C1+) OR Mandarin Chinese (equivalent professional fluency). Professional working proficiency in English required.

About MAOMAO

MAOMAO is building one of Germany's most exciting Asian food e-commerce businesses, combining online grocery, content, community, social commerce and our own consumer brands.

With over 200,000 followers across social media, an established e-commerce business and a growing team, we're ready for our next stage of growth.

We're looking for an exceptionally driven, analytical and entrepreneurial Growth & Strategy Manager to work directly with our founders, drive marketing performance and help scale MAOMAO.

This isn't a traditional marketing role. We're looking for someone who thinks like an entrepreneur, takes ownership and has the potential to grow into a leadership position.

What You'll Do

• Drive Growth: Identify opportunities to increase revenue, customer acquisition, conversion, average order value and customer retention.

• Scale TikTok Shop & Social Commerce: Help grow one of our most important sales channels by improving livestream performance, affiliate partnerships, promotional strategies and conversion.

• Own Marketing Performance: Monitor KPIs across TikTok Shop, livestreaming, social media, e-commerce and campaigns. Turn data into actionable improvements.

• Drive Marketing Execution: Take ownership of marketing priorities, coordinate our existing marketing and content team, monitor progress and ensure initiatives deliver measurable results.

• Lead Strategic Projects: Take ownership of growth initiatives, product launches and commercial experiments from idea to execution.

• Work With the Founders: Help make strategic decisions, challenge assumptions and turn ambitious goals into measurable results.

• Develop as a Leader: Take ownership of cross-functional projects from day one, with the opportunity to progressively assume direct team leadership based on performance.

Who We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in management consulting, high-growth startups, business strategy, growth, e-commerce or a similarly demanding environment.

• Strong academic background in business, economics, management or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated ability.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strong commercial thinking.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, influence stakeholders and deliver measurable business results.

• Entrepreneurial, ambitious and comfortable taking initiative and responsibility.

• Someone who doesn't just identify problems but actively develops and implements solutions.

• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the potential to lead people and teams.

• Fluent German (C1+) OR Mandarin Chinese (equivalent professional fluency) is mandatory.

• Professional working proficiency in English.

• Willingness to work primarily on-site with our team in Berlin.

Experience with TikTok Shop, livestream commerce, affiliate marketing or social commerce is a strong advantage, but not required. We're particularly interested in candidates who combine analytical and commercial thinking with hands-on experience scaling digital businesses.

You don't need to be an expert in every marketing channel. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly, take ownership and turn opportunities into measurable results.

Why Join MAOMAO?

• Real Ownership: Work on business-critical projects with measurable impact from day one.

• Direct Founder Exposure: Work closely with founders with backgrounds in venture capital and e-commerce.

• Leadership Opportunity: Develop into a leadership role as the company scales.

• Fast Learning Curve: Gain hands-on experience across growth, strategy, marketing and operations.

• Build Something Meaningful: Help make Asian food more accessible and exciting for millions of consumers.

• Competitive Compensation: A competitive salary based on experience and responsibility.

• Startup Environment: Fast decisions, ambitious colleagues and the freedom to make things happen.

• Existing Infrastructure: Work with an established marketing and content team, an active community and our own content production setup in Berlin.

Ready to Make an Impact?

Send us your CV and a short answer to the following question:

What's one project, campaign or initiative you personally drove? What was your contribution, and what measurable impact did you achieve?

Your example can come from consulting, startups, marketing, e-commerce or another relevant setting. We're interested in how you think, take ownership and deliver results.

We care more about your ambition, analytical ability and execution than your job title or years of experience.

Join MAOMAO and help shape the future of Asian food commerce in Europe.
