Founder's Associate at Norman AI GmbH

Norman is building an AI accountant that helps small businesses manage invoicing, accounting, and taxes. We’re a small team based in Berlin.

As Founder's Associate, you’ll work directly with the founders across the full customer loop. You’ll talk to customers in German, help them get into the product, support them when they’re stuck, and help them decide whether to buy—honestly, not with a hard sell. Beyond that, you’ll take on business development, product feedback, and ops work that keeps Norman moving. This is a broad early-stage role across customer success, support, BD, product, and ops.

Full-time, remote within Germany.

Tasks

• Take inbound calls and chats with people who found Norman and want to know if it fits their business.
• Run demos and guided walkthroughs in German, tailored to their workflow. Help people onboard: setup, first tasks, and day-to-day product questions.
• Identify product gaps and opportunities for improvement from these conversations. Help get them to production.
• Own the purchase conversation: clarify fit, handle objections, and help suitable customers decide and get started. No sales quota or commission today—judgment and follow-through matter more than pressure.
• Support current users when they’re stuck or considering next steps (customer support + success).
• Help with business development: partnerships, outbound experiments, and turning strong conversations into pipeline where it makes sense.
• Use Norman every day, catch friction early, and feed clear examples back into product.
• Work with founders on product priorities: document recurring questions, objections, and workflow gaps; help turn them into better onboarding, help content, and product decisions.
• Take on ops work that keeps a small company running smoothly (process, tools, follow-ups, light project ownership).
• Help with webinars, short product videos, or a small community as we grow education around Norman.

Requirements

• Native-level German (spoken and written) for confident, natural customer conversations.
• Willingness to wear many hats in an early-stage startup—CS, support, BD, product feedback, and ops in the same week.
• Strong listening: ask useful questions, explain software patiently, and avoid jargon.
• You learn products and processes fast and care why people (and systems) get stuck.
• You stay organized and follow through across calls, tickets, BD threads, and internal ops.
• Based in Germany.

Nice to have:

• SaaS/fintech experience or experience with tools for Freiberufler and small businesses.
• Familiarity with invoicing, bookkeeping, or German tax workflows (no Steuerberater required).
• CRM experience; you’ve done demos, support, partnerships, or light ops/project work before.
• Interest in teaching in public (webinars, short videos, community).
