Group Product Manager – Corporate Systems at Smartsheet

Corporate Systems Engineering builds and operates the software platforms, integrations, and automations that power Smartsheet’s core business functions across Finance, Sales/GTM, and People & Culture. Our team owns mission-critical systems and workflows that enable how the company hires, sells, bills, pays, reports, and scales. We operate at the intersection of software engineering, enterprise platforms, and business-critical data, treating internal systems with the same rigor, reliability, and product mindset as customer-facing software.

Corporate Systems Product Management focuses on the internal platforms that power how Smartsheet operates - including Finance, People, Sales and Entitlements, Billing and Monetization, Enterprise Systems Data, and AI & Automation. Product Managers in this team steward product strategy, roadmaps, business workflows, and long-term platform evolution across these domains, partnering closely with Engineering and business stakeholders to translate complex enterprise needs into scalable technology outcomes.

As Group Product Manager – Corporate Systems, you will lead the Product Management function across Corporate Systems, managing and developing a team of Product Managers responsible for some of Smartsheet’s most critical internal technology domains. You will establish a cohesive product strategy across the portfolio, ensuring domain roadmaps connect to company priorities while identifying dependencies and opportunities that span traditional organizational and system boundaries.

You will operate at both the strategic and execution levels: coaching Product Managers to develop strong product practices, partnering with Engineering leadership on portfolio strategy and investment decisions, and directly engaging in the most complex cross-functional initiatives. You will help evolve Corporate Systems from a collection of enterprise applications and projects into a product-led portfolio of platforms, capabilities, data, integrations, and employee experiences designed for long-term scale.

You will report to the Senior Director of Corporate Systems and collaborate closely with Engineering leadership and senior stakeholders across Finance, People & Culture, Sales/GTM, Product Engineering, Data, Security, and other business functions.

You Will:

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers responsible for Financial Systems, People Systems, Sales & Entitlements, Billing & Monetization, Enterprise Systems Data, and AI & Automation
• Define and evolve the product-management operating model for Corporate Systems, establishing consistent practices for product discovery, customer problem definition, roadmap development, prioritization, requirements, metrics, and lifecycle management
• Establish a cohesive portfolio strategy that connects individual product domains to Corporate Systems and company-level objectives
• Partner with Engineering leadership to align product and technical strategy, ensuring investments balance new capabilities with platform health, reliability, scalability, security, technical debt, and operational sustainability
• Drive portfolio-level prioritization and investment decisions across competing business needs, helping teams focus capacity on the highest-value problems and outcomes
• Identify and manage dependencies across domains, particularly where business processes span Product, Sales, entitlements, billing, Finance, People systems, integrations, automation, and enterprise data
• Coach Product Managers to deeply understand their customers, business processes, systems, data flows, and technical constraints rather than operating primarily as requirements or project managers
• Raise the technical and systems fluency of the Product Management organization, enabling PMs to effectively partner with software engineers, architects, application engineers, Data teams, and Security
• Ensure product strategies and roadmaps are grounded in measurable customer and business outcomes, with clear success metrics and mechanisms for evaluating product health and value
• Create clarity across ambiguous or highly cross-functional initiatives where ownership, requirements, system boundaries, or desired outcomes are not immediately clear
• Partner with senior business leaders to understand strategic priorities and translate them into coherent technology capabilities and investment plans
• Lead product thinking for major cross-domain transformations such as new pricing and monetization models, enterprise AI adoption, ERP and billing modernization, enterprise data governance, and automation
• Establish mechanisms for portfolio planning, roadmap reviews, product health reviews, dependency management, and executive communication across Corporate Systems
• Ensure Product Managers balance stakeholder requests with longer-term product strategy, challenging solution-first requirements and identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, or eliminate processes
• Champion data-informed product management, including clear product KPIs, adoption measures, operational metrics, customer feedback, and outcome measurement
• Partner with Engineering leadership to improve how Product and Engineering teams work together from discovery and design through delivery, operational readiness, adoption, and continuous improvement
• Communicate portfolio strategy, investment decisions, progress, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership
• Build strong relationships across Product Engineering, Finance, People & Culture, Sales/GTM, Data, Security, and other functions, influencing outcomes across organizational boundaries without direct authority
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and capability building for the Corporate Systems Product Management team

You Have:

• 10+ years of Product Management, Technical Product Management, Business Systems, or related experience, including significant ownership of complex enterprise or platform products
• 3+ years of experience leading, managing, or formally coaching Product Managers, with demonstrated ability to raise product-management capability and develop strong product leaders
• Experience owning or overseeing a portfolio of interconnected products, platforms, or enterprise systems rather than a single application or business process
• Strong product-management fundamentals, including customer discovery, problem definition, product strategy, roadmap development, prioritization, requirements, metrics, and outcome measurement
• Strong technical and systems fluency, with the ability to reason about APIs, integrations, data flows, system boundaries, platform architecture, automation, and enterprise application ecosystems
• Experience partnering closely with Engineering leadership to shape technical strategy, evaluate tradeoffs, and translate business needs into scalable platform capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple systems, business functions, and technical teams
• Experience with enterprise platforms and business processes across areas such as Finance, Sales/GTM, HR/People, billing, monetization, data, or automation
• Ability to distinguish customer problems from requested solutions and coach teams and stakeholders toward simpler, higher-leverage outcomes
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to prioritization, product health, and investment decisions
• Experience operating in environments where reliability, security, compliance, data integrity, and operational continuity are important product considerations
• Ability to operate effectively across both strategy and execution, moving from long-term portfolio direction to detailed product or system discussions when needed
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly to senior leadership
• Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries, navigate competing priorities, and create clarity in ambiguous environments
• Experience with SaaS business models, enterprise AI, usage-based monetization, enterprise data, or large-scale business-system transformation is a strong plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree is a plus but not required.

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location.
