People Operations Associate (Centralized Operations) at Stripe

What you'll do

The Stripe Delivery Center (SDC) strategy will provide operational leverage and expand Stripe’s portfolio of operational capabilities to support the scaled needs of external users and internal Stripe teams. Stripe’s Global People Operations team will sit within the SDC and is a highly collaborative, cross-functional team that drives key support for the People function. We work with many different teams at Stripe. We are nimble and flexible individuals who can wear many different hats. We don’t mind working through ambiguity and love adding organization to chaos. We believe that success is not defined by any one individual, but by the collective work of the entire team.

As a People Operations Associate in Mexico City, you’ll be part of the new Centralized Operations team within the Global People Operations organization. You’ll process People transactions, respond to inquiries, maintain accurate People data, and work with teams across Stripe to provide timely and reliable support to Stripes worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Process People transactions accurately and on time across the worker lifecycle, including hiring, manager, cost center, team, and location changes.
• Respond to inquiries with clear, accurate, and timely information, escalating complex cases to the appropriate specialist.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of People data through careful data entry, audits, and issue resolution.
• Support employment verification requests, candidate documentation, background checks, and other core operational processes.
• Follow standard operating procedures while applying sound judgment to ambiguous cases and protecting sensitive information.
• Partner with Specialized Operations, People Systems, and other teams to resolve issues and provide a consistent experience for Stripes.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest practical improvements to workflows, documentation, and team practices.
• Demonstrate AI fluency by using approved AI and automation tools to support research, analysis, and operational efficiency, while verifying outputs, protecting sensitive data, and applying human judgment.

Minimum requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in People Operations, Shared Services, Human Resources Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish, including experience supporting users and collaborating with partners across teams or regions.
• Experience processing high-volume People transactions or operational requests accurately and within defined service levels.
• Experience working across core People processes, such as hiring, worker data changes, organizational changes, employment verification, or offboarding.
• Experience managing cases or inquiries through a ticketing or case-management system, including escalating issues to the appropriate team. Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
• Experience applying company policies, standard operating procedures, and controls to operational work while using judgment in ambiguous situations.
• Experience handling sensitive People data with discretion and following established privacy and data-handling requirements.
• Familiarity with People systems or comparable enterprise platforms. Experience with Workday is preferred.
