Role Summary and Impact
We are seeking an VP, Data Strategy to work on a client portfolio across Wavemaker & T&P UK. This individual will play a pivotal role in defining the role of data in our clients' businesses and driving the adoption of Open Intelligence, InfoSum and the Open Media Studio (OMS) Platform across Wavemaker & T&P UK clients.
You will accelerate the use of data to inform brilliant advertising strategies, managing client satisfaction, commercial health, and their understanding of our platform, solutions, and consulting services.
You will support business growth through leading data strategy on key new business opportunities and driving organic growth from existing clients. This will be achieved by developing data strategies, evangelising our platform and capabilities, and providing thought leadership.
This dynamic leader will shape our success by being accountable for achieving full penetration of the OMS Platform and Open Intelligence within all clients in their portfolio.
What you’ll do
- Drive Senior Client Partnership: act as the senior data strategy partner for your portfolio of clients, engaging with key leaders responsible for data and technology. You will translate their business needs & objectives into innovative data strategies and ensure our solutions deliver a measurable competitive advantage.
- Spearhead Platform Innovation: go beyond adoption to drive the evolution of our platforms including innovative new use cases. You will lead the charge on ensuring innovative application of platforms like Open Intelligence and InfoSum, shaping the use of Agentic AI, and ensuring the highest standards of data governance and ethics are upheld.
- Lead Data Strategy Capability: You will set the foundations for smart, audience-led, and analytically driven media plans that deliver client outcomes. You will be responsible for overseeing and developing the Data Strategy talent across your portfolio of clients and assembling the right teams and capabilities to help our clients succeed.
- Commercial and Revenue Management: You will partner with the UK Commercial teams to design proposals that deliver value and are competitive. The profitability of work delivered by the data strategy team within your client portfolio across Wavemaker & T&P will be your responsibility.
- Thought Leadership: You will stay at the forefront of industry trends and technologies, providing thought leadership that sets WPP Media apart.

What you’ll need
- Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within agency, Adtech, Advertising, or a closely related field, with a track record of successful outcomes in a matrixed organisational structure.
- Technical Expertise: A deep understanding of data products, technology, and trends within the advertising and marketing industry, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
